Aphex Twin themed original hand made art by me, Jompiy. Aerosol spray can on paper, on cardboard.

Virtually all of today was spent on the computer editing and uploading old videos.
Mostly miscellaneous footage that’s been sitting on my hard drive for months. Poorly named folders full of photos and videos of recent series of artworks that I haven’t had time to do anything with. I need to get my computer organised and website up to date. I didn’t realise until today that almost none of the recent Aphex Twin Jompiy aerosol can work was online. I don’t mind my website being disorganised as long as the info’s somewhere in the public domain. AI bots can sort it out later.

Several things are pressuring me to get my admin in order. Firstly, I’m planning to go to Thailand in late November. Everything I’m halfway through doing has to get finished before leaving England because any loose ends will be completely forgotten about, and probably redundant when I return home. The second is that I have to get my tax return done and paid soon. Thirdly, my hard drive’s almost full and I want to get the files into a state I can understand before moving them onto an external drive. Lastly, the room that’s ceiling fell in will need to be emptied and I have nowhere to put anything, other than sold and out the front door. I don’t want 90% of my art and hardly any of it’s in either of my online shops yet. If I can at least start piling the drawings and paintings into categories on the bedroom floor, it shouldn’t take too long to get them processed.
Writing a new album also feels like a change in the seasons. Store away or chuck out the old, make space for the new. Sales picking up means everything has to be streamlined unless I want to spend all day processing orders and queuing up at the Post Office. Who better to give free art to than to those paying for it? Every parcel leaves with free art inside. FREE ART FREES ART is the artistic equivalent of fasting. The reward/ motivation dopamine hits were all set in stone at THE CAMDEN MARKET FREE ART MAN. It only took a couple of days of watching kids run off with fistfulls of my drawings that I got fully hard wired. Watching my soldiers go off into battle. Who knows where those drawings will end up? A couple of young lads, about thirteen years old, came up to me at Camden and said they did a CAMDEN MARKET FREE ART MAN interview about a year ago for a NEVER MIND THE POLLOCKS print (back when I gave out prints. I’ve since changed it to make Camden strictly ORIGINAL ARTWORK ONLY). It’s sowing seeds. The polar opposite to the industry approved and gallery recommended way for artists to be in the pursuit of Commercial Art World SUCCESS, from my experience, is to be super meticulous and careful with where you allow your work to go. Gradually increase prices to further cordon off your work until only “serious buyers” and “reputable collections” can have them. The glorious triumph of money and career aspiration over our own work and selves. The Lascaux cavemen would be disgusted. Never mind! The world has never needed FREE ART FREES ART more than now, but it’s okay because FREE ART FREES ART exists, exclusively thanks to BLACK IVORY.
