Yesterday Emma and I were in Ranscombe Studios in Rochester recording our new album Throop (a fan club exclusive) Named after the artist-writer-musician Ron Throop who did the front and back cover album paintings. Not commissions, I didn’t think of it till after I saw the one of me on his Instagram. He used his only remaining United Airlines blanket for a joint portrait of Charles Thomson and Eamon Everall. Full story on his substack. See video above for the Jim Riley makeshift kaleidoscope lens filter.
As well as those on Throop we recorded Only Need, Is it any wonder why and Say you like. Guess they’ll go on our next album.
Throop is the third studio album Edgeworth Band have recorded at Ranscombe Studios. Emma didn’t play on the first album, Studious, so we re-recorded a couple/few of the Studious songs on Emma’s First Ranscombe. We’ll probably get Emma versions of other Studious songs on future albums.
Edgeworth Band studio albums:
1. Studious (available on YouTube)
2. Emma’s First Ranscombe (covers available on YouTube, originals Fan Club exclusive)
3. Throop (Fan Club exclusive)

Thank you Haringey Community Press for the article and front page photo in this month’s issue and Ron for finding the online download. I like the intro “Muswell Hill painter Edgeworth Johnstone shares an insight into his collaborations with Billy Childish”. Hanging the exhibition on Thursday, PV Friday, hand delivered 2-3000 flyers round Highgate with Claire from Wave who have also been promoting the show on their Instagram. Was speaking to one of the BOTH Gallery artists in Highgate and saw they have some of my flyers out in their gallery. Gave me an idea to mass distribute free limited edition prints with an invite to visit the show to get numbered and signed. Delivering flyers is one of my favourite things to do. Could easily get twenty thousand done in six months. Would have a better map based plan this time. Keep forgetting which roads I have and haven’t done. Too late for HLSI show but if I have another later in the year at BOTH or somewhere, could work.
